What's with everyone's hate on skunk2 parts? These people have been around for a while and have been making decent parts (to my knowledge) for a long time but a lot of people hate on them? What are your personal experiences with skunk2... Do you recommend there products?

I'm thinking about buying a 06+ civic si (can't decide either a coupe or sedan) but skunk2 makes lots of aftermarket stuff for it. I'd still like to have a fun daily driver with some go. Maybe even get "skunk2 certified" which will make it kinda cool since I can't get spoon certified

theres alot mroe products out there that get you more bang for buck, especially for their exhausts, which are way over priced IMO. if you get a 06+ civic your lucky to have the shitload of after market parts or the CTR to get parts from. '12 has fuck all and im struggling to find parts i want

i dont want to get "cheap" shit like that. my cars getting nothing but top quality parts. already have the full 3" catless single muffler Ultimate Racing Exhaust, and going to buy BC coilovers pretty soon, and just had some Volks priced out that are EXTREMELY tempting right now

I'm the same way with my car. It's a 92 civic but I have a Mugen header, HKS exhaust, rays gram lights, and spoon parts piling up. I'm a firm believer of buying quality parts and not supporting knock off/replica part companies.

Ya back in the day when my dad was into the Honda scene they didnt have "bwr or blox or rota wheels" if you wanted wheels you had to buy sparco, Mugen, spoon... And so on... So in my mind I feel that I have to build my car with an old school feel to it... Just kind of seems like it's going back to the OG roots of the Honda scene. But back on topic I did find a skunk2 intake manifold for a b16a that I'm tempted in buying for my build... I came to the conclusion that skunk2 has been around for a really long time and they seem to have a decent reputation. People seem to hate skunk2 but some people swear by it. I'm definitely going to buy a few skunk2 products for my car and rep them no matter what.

Most of the time yes that's the case. When I was building Hondas in the nineties your only options were very limited. The honda aftermarket is so saturated, but there are lots of quality parts made in America. To tell you the truth i prefer most of the american made parts better as r&d is still pretty strong(fo b series anyways). All Japanese parts are so outdated for our generation of cars. I won't get into it much but to stay on topic skunk2(formerly skunkworks) makes some great stuff. I just don't think they should be touching anything in the suspension department though.
