Using fuck ups from the other forum as a guideline, here are some things that I think would make this forum better.
1. Keep most of the discussion automotive related except for one lounge type section (which I think is already the case) as opposed to 1 or 2 sections for car talk and 20 for gardening, therapy, porn and cooking.
2. Post GOOD and RELEVANT topics / debates in the car section. Stuff that can be talked about and backed up and that might actually be important to someone on here.
3. In build threads, which are encouraged here already and that is a good thing, instead of telling someone how stupid they are for doing something a certain way, explain what they are doing wrong, why its bad, and how to improve. Ie.. Actual feedback. Or fuck.. It's a local forum right? Maybe even offer your time.
4. There doesn't necessarily need to be a new thread linking to every single jalopnik video. Also, threads asking for opinions about 2 different cars that no one on here have driven are sorta stupid. (Basically to enforce this rule, if someone signs up with the name "Terminator", he should be banned.)
5. Let us post fun stuff. Everyone on every car forum does dangerously illegal things with their vehicles. Obviously there is some line that can be drawn, but if there is someone hooning around in a snow covered parking lot, let them post the vid. It doesn't have to reflect the views of the forum itself but we should still be able to post fun shit
6. Actually welcome new members instead of being a cunt right off the bat. At least give them a chance. Even if they drive a turbo lancer that is "basically an Evo".. Maybe the person is still a cool guy but just a little ill informed.
7. Get drunk together once in a while.
8. When 99% of the user base is unhappy with something.. Maybe take that into consideration.
9. Some trolling is funny. Some is just gay. I don't know how to turn this into a suggestion type point but yeah.. If someone is regularly posting stupid shit.. Burn his house down.
10. I can't think of a 10 which is unfortunate because it would have been a nice round number to end on.
